Ridgewood Shaded Fuel Break Planning Project - San Rafael Zone Share

Example of a shaded fuelbreak

The Ridgewood Shaded Fuel Break Planning Project includes planning, coordination, and environmental compliance for future vegetation management activities that will reduce hazardous fuels in an area between San Rafael and several Central Marin communities. This effort will focus on removal of nonnative invasive eucalyptus trees within lands owned and managed by Marin County Parks (particularly overlapping the Terra Linda / Sleepy Hollow Divide Preserve), the Town of San Anselmo, and the Tamalpais Cemetery. Native vegetation would be planted in the place of removed eucalyptus trees. Project implementation would take place in future years.
