Improved and consistent signage will be installed in areas of high fire risk to help keep public alert and avoid risky fire behavior. These signs will include the Red Flag Warning flip signs piloted by Fire Safe Marin in 2021. They will be installed at key intersections, and open space access points to better inform the public regarding risk. In addition Red Flag warning signs will be issued to Firewise communities to temporarily install over their existing signage during critical fire weather. A pilot electronic safety message board will be installed at a strategic location to inform the public about critical fire weather. The nature of this message board will also support graphics, bilingual messaging, and the ability to provide safety reminders and encourage emergency alert registration. These signs will serve to educate residents and visitors.
