The Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority (MWPA) is conducting a survey on resident perceptions of wildfire risks and risk reduction programs in Marin. The survey results will inform the creation of MWPA’s programs in the future, and track progress of the current prepardness initiatives. To design and conduct this survey, MWPA contracted with Josh Dimon at FairPath Solutions for expertise in equity-centered collaborative and co-design research. MWPA & FairPath Solutions are also partnering with community organizations across the Marin JPA to conduct door-to-door surveys in the areas that they serve (see list of partner organizations below).
Residents will be randomly selected to answer the survey in the fall of 2023. Although we would like to survey all residents of the MWPA JPA, it would be infeasible to do so. FairPath Solutions created random samples of sufficient size to adequately capture perspectives from all Marin residents. If you are not a part of this initial random sample, you may be selected to participate in future follow-up surveys.
If you live in an area served by one of our partnering community organizations, our partners may knock on your door and ask you for your time (about 15 minutes) to answer the survey questions. They will offer you a $20 gift card upon completion in appreciation of the time you have provided.
Alternatively, you may receive a postcard in the mail with an invitation to take the survey.
If you have received a postcard or would like to check if your address was randomly selected to participate in the survey, please use this link to enter your address. Once you complete the survey, we will mail a $20 gift card to the same address as a thank you for your time.
We recognize that responding to a survey takes time and effort, and we thank you for contributing to wildfire preparedness in Marin!
=====================================
