Central Marin Zone Evacuation Route Core Project (2021-2022 Evacuation Route Vegetation Management)

Example of evacuation route clearing

The Central Marin Zone Evacuation Route Core Project includes roadside vegetation management along routes identified as being critical for evacuation during a fire within the Central Marin Zone (including the communities of Fairfax, San Anselmo, Sleepy Hollow, Ross, Kentfield, Greenbrae, Larkspur, Corte Madera, and adjacent unincorporated County areas). The member agencies will work with hand crews to reduce invasive weeds, grasses, shrubs, dead woody vegetation, and some small diameter trees adjacent to evacuation routes that would create hazardous conditions during a fire. No healthy, mature, scenic trees will be removed as part of this project.
